Bienvenue

Two Suffolk villages,
one corner of France

We are the French twinning association for Haughley and Wetherden, linked with Noyelles-lès-Seclin close to Lille. Each year we either host our French friends or we visit them. In 2026 the French visited us, and so we will travel to France in May 2027. Would you like to join us?

You don’t need to speak a word of French.

A large group of around thirty adults poses for a group photograph on a sunny day in front of Norwich Cathedral, with its distinctive Perpendicular Gothic tower and long nave visible behind them alongside lush green and purple-leafed trees.

  • Pedestrians stroll along a cobbled lane in Norwich's St John Maddermarket area, passing the navy-blue JC Pinto shop on the left and the bright-red Thorns storefront on the right, with historic brick buildings lining the bustling street beyond.
  • A group of visitors, mostly older adults, gather outside the glass-fronted entrance of The Forum Norwich, beneath a banner advertising the Norwich Games Festival with the tagline Play Create Collaborate.
  • A group of around twenty adults gathered in a sunny historic street flanked by red-brick buildings and mature trees, listening to a guide in a wide-brimmed hat during a HAWTA walking tour excursion.
  • Four older visitors — two women and two men — stand on the grounds outside the historic red-brick buildings of Norwich School on a sunny day, with one woman in a coral top and sunglasses smiling toward the camera.
